Windows XP Setup Instructions
 • Click the Start menu and select Control Panel.
 • If there is a blue background, click the link Switch to Classic View.
 • Open the Network Connections icon.
 • Right-click on Wireless Network Connection and select Properties.
 • Click on the Wireless Networks tab.
 • If MizzouWireless is listed, click Properties. Otherwise, click Add.
 • Enter MizzouWireless in the Network Name (SSID) field. It is case-sensitive.
 • On the Network Authentication drop-down menu, select WPA2. If WPA2 is not available,
    install the Windows XP Wireless Update.
 • From the Data Encryption drop-down menu, choose AES.
 • Click the Authentication tab.
 • From the EAP Type drop-down menu, select Protected EAP (PEAP).
 • Click the Properties button for EAP Type.
 • Below Trusted Root Certification Authorities place a check next to VeriSign Trust
   Network.
 • Under Select Authentication Method select Secured Password (EAP-MSCHAP v2) from
   the drop-down box.
 • Click the Configure button next to Secured Password (EAP-MSCHAP v2).
 • Uncheck Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if
   any).
 • Click OK and click OK again to save the settings.
 • Uncheck Authenticate as computer... and Authenticate as guest....
 • Click OK. Click OK again.
 • In Network Connections, double-click Your Wireless Network Connection.
 • Watch for the Wireless Networks prompt in the system tray, near the clock. To connect
   click the prompt and log in with your Username/PawPrint and Password. Logon domain
   box, student?s type tigers; faculty/staff type umc-users; hospital/health employees type
   umhs-users; UM System employees type um-users.
 • Click the Start menu and select Control Panel.
 • If there is a blue background, click the link Switch to Classic View.
 • Open the Network Connections icon.
 • Right-click on Wireless Network Connection and select Properties.
 • Click on the Wireless Networks tab.
 • Click on the Advanced button.
 • Make sure Access point (infrastructure) networks only is selected and Automatically
   connect to non-preferred networks is not checked.
